How to send money on Wise — set Recipient gets → USD

Desktop (Wise Web)
Key step: On the amount/quote screen, switch to Recipient gets and choose USD. If USD isn’t supported for your route, it won’t appear.
Step 1 — Open Send
- Sign in at wise.com.
- Click Send in the top navigation.
Step 2 — Choose/add recipient
- Select an existing recipient or click Add recipient.
- Enter bank details, email/phone, or @Wisetag.
Step 3 — Set “Recipient gets → USD”
- In the amount box, switch to Recipient gets.
- Set the currency to USD and enter the amount your recipient should receive.
Step 4 — Choose payment & confirm
- Select speed/fee option (e.g., Low cost / Fast).
- Choose how you’ll pay (bank transfer, card, Apple/Google Pay where available).
- Review rate, fees & ETA → Confirm & pay.
Mobile (iOS & Android)
On mobile, same idea: On the amount screen, set Recipient gets to USD. You can tap to switch between You send and Recipient gets to lock either side.
Step A — Start a transfer
- Open the Wise app.
- Tap Send (or Payments → Send).
Step B — Choose/add recipient
- Select an existing recipient or Add recipient.
Step C — Set “Recipient gets → USD”
- On the amount screen, switch to Recipient gets.
- Choose USD and enter the amount.
Step D — Pay & confirm
- Pick speed/fee and payment method.
- Review the quote → tap Confirm to send.
